Mixed cultivation is a sustainable cultivation principle in which different types of vegetables are planted next to each other in order to support each other's growth. Already practiced in ancient cultures, it was systematically developed further in the 20th century by Gertrud Franck. Suitable combinations can reduce pests, protect the soil and increase yields. When planning a mixed crop, it is important to measure the garden area, know good neighborhoods and consider crop rotations. A planting plan helps to organize sowing times, spacing and crops clearly. Flowering plants and mulch also play a key role in soil fertility and pest control. The aim is to create a lively, diverse garden in harmony with nature.

The course takes place in cooperation with DI.in Melanie Wiedl in the Kulturhaus Seeboden (small hall).
