Own laptop with charging cable for research in the Matricula database. A loaner device will be provided if required.
Who were your ancestors? Where did they live, work and marry? In this course you will learn the basics of genealogical research - with practical instructions directly on your laptop. We will show you how to systematically search for your family roots using the Matricula online database (digital church registers).
You will learn how to record data correctly, build family trees and read and evaluate historical sources correctly. You will also receive tips on how to organize and document your research results.
Please bring your own laptop. Basic computer skills are a prerequisite - no previous genealogical knowledge is required.
