More and more people are discovering the benefits of having their own vegetable garden - and with it an interest in home-grown seeds. After all, those who propagate their own seeds not only ensure greater independence, but also make a valuable contribution to preserving biodiversity.

The knowledge of how to obtain your own seeds is an old cultural asset - and is revived in our courses. It's not just about harvesting and drying correctly, but also about selecting varieties, storage and exchanging ideas with other gardeners.

Contents:
Importance of seeds
Flower structure
Pollination types
Risk of cross-pollination
Storage of seeds

Objectives:
To create enthusiasm and basic knowledge for obtaining your own seeds
To be able to multiply seeds

For anyone with an interest in sustainable topics. No previous knowledge is required.
The course is part of our "VHS Green" course series, which focuses on sustainability and conscious living. Aspects of sustainability are discussed, possible courses of action are shown and reflection is encouraged. The "VHS Green" course encourages personal and social change and promotes sustainable lifestyles. The learning objectives are to acquire knowledge about, for example, ecological, social and economic interrelationships and to motivate students to act in a reflective, responsible and resource-conserving manner. #vhsforfuture #BNE
