The history of incense burning is as old as the history of fire. People sat by the fire and in the beginning it was more of a coincidence, but later wood and herbs were smoked very deliberately. The fire warmed, protected and brought light into long dark nights. It was sacred to people because it was essential for life. We traditionally burn incense during the Raunächte and the myths surrounding the Wild Hunt, prophecies and oracles are still practiced today, especially in the valleys. Because we are part of a great cycle of the people who came before us, who are with us and who will be after us.
Incense is also used to cleanse, neutralize and recharge the atmosphere.
Incense can also stimulate, calm and harmonize. We can burn incense to find strength, to relax our psyche, to find sleep, to stimulate dream activity and to meditate.
Incense burning is a ritual - and as such has a personal quality of its own.
We will bring along mortars, herbs and resins for further processing into wonderful incense blends.
The contents presented in the workshop do not replace a medical diagnosis or treatment.
