MehrGrips is a civil society initiative and a non-partisan think tank. 30 experts from various fields have come together to contribute their expertise and experience to the "Austria 2032" vision and to develop short, medium and long-term recommendations for action in the areas of education, digital and ecological transformation, social stability and competitiveness. The many discussions resulted in the book "Demokratie sucht Zukunft" (ISBN 978-3-99060-537-0), which will be published on November 8, 2025.
One of the authors and MehrGrips founding member, Kurt Guwak, Managing Director of Promitto Organizational Consulting, together with MehrGrips experts Nikolaus Kowall, Professor of International Business at the University of Applied Sciences bfi Vienna and Beate Gfrerer, Managing Director of the Carinthian Adult Education Centres, will be asking central questions about the future of democracy: How can it be strengthened in times of diverse upheavals? What role do the parties play in this? How do they need to change and develop in order to become part of the solution rather than part of the problem? What new forms of participation could emerge, how can parties become innovative and capable of developing solutions for the major issues of the future? What does it take for a strong, vital democracy to emerge?

Moderation: Peter Schlögl, Vice-Rector of the University of Klagenfurt
