Carinthia is home to an impressive variety of plants - from colorful meadow flowers in the valleys to robust high alpine species. The course explains the special features of the local flora, its adaptation to climate and soil and its role in the ecological balance. In addition, rare and protected species are presented and measures for their conservation are explained. The Carinthian Nature Conservation Act provides an important framework for this. A look back in history shows how the use and importance of plants has changed and how they still shape culture and landscape today. Vivid pictures and exciting facts turn the lecture into a varied journey of discovery through Carinthia's plant world.
